FREQUENTLY ASKED LETTERING QUESTIONS:
Why does Lettering require more than being the best athlete?
The culture of BHS Track & Field is more than WINS. We are dedicated to something bigger than self and we do what it takes to be a TEAM, which includes fundraising, asking our parents and family to get involved, and volunteering our own time to Team activities to make T&F a better sport for everyone.

If I am "close" in points, $, or hours, should I still try to get stuff in?
YES!-- Your commitment to the team is evident in your past and future actions, so if you are "close", think about how your actions could have been perceived. I honor dedication to the Team! I have also had athletes come up short on meet points but squeak in with meeting 1st or 2nd Standards (If you meet a 2nd standard, it nullifies the 1st and you can only earn one standard in one event one time).

Is it too late to get Volunteer or Fundraising Points?
NO!-- As long as there are opportunities, you have time. Let me know if you are going to try!

Are we paying for a Letter?
NO!--you do not have to pay for a letter. You had to show your Team commitment by helping fundraise $75 for Track, which could be in the form of: attending Spike Night, eating @ the Cajun Boil, donating something to the Cajun Boil basket, buying FanCloth items for yourself or selling them to family & friends, and/or having a parent work an event at one of our meets or concessions at any event. None of these require that you give money to Track. BUT... if you choose not to do the "easy" fundraising, then the expectation is that you make up the difference. This is for YOUR team.

“It's the action, not the fruit of the action, that's important. You have to do the right thing. It may not be in your power, may not be in your time, that there'll be any fruit. But that doesn't mean you stop doing the right thing. You may never know what results come from your action. But if you do nothing, there will be no result.”
